Fostering Farmers are the current steward of one acre of land provided by Middletown Township at Stevenson Park, a passive park adjacent to Shadow Lake that gives residents the opportunity to experience and appreciate the environment in its natural state.
Fostering Farmers is currently preparing and cultivating the land, with mid-summer planting scheduled to begin this season. As the farm develops, the space will serve as a hands-on learning environment where young adults can build agricultural skills, work experience, and a deeper connection to the land.
In the meantime, Fostering Farmers has secured two nearby community garden plots that are already being used for agricultural learning and early crop production. These garden spaces provide an opportunity for participants to begin growing produce while building partnerships that help expand access to fresh food within the community.
